I am looking into starting Frostgrave from Osprey Games, which is a
small (~10 per side) fantasy skirmish game centered around a wizard
leading a band of hired mercenaries into an ancient city that is just
emerging from a thousand years of being buried in ice and snow.
Since I have basically no fantasy mini's I have been searching around for some good looking models that are also fairly unique (so basically not GW). I saw this chap at the Red Box Games website, and knew immediately I wanted him as either the apprentice or the wizard himself.
I tried a bit of OSL coming from the ball he's holding, though I think I need to touch up the ball itself to seem more glowy. If I had the skills I would really like to paint it like he was holding an ball of energy (like a Dragon Ball Z kamehameha) getting ready to shoot it at somebody. He has some great little details without being too ornate, and in general the sculpt is fantastic and a joy to paint. I ordered a few other models with him and they are all good quality with no casting issues at all even with some pretty fine details.
